(11 November 2010, Bridgeport, CT) Rotair Aerospace Corporation was recently honored by the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime (formerly Defense Supply Center Columbus) as one of the government’s best suppliers at an award ceremony held during the 2010 DLA Enterprise Supplier conference and Exhibition, August 23-25, in Columbus, Ohio.
Rotair President, Wes Harrington, accepted the award from Army Brigadier General Thomas J. Richardson, the DLA Land Maritime Commanding General.
This recognition means the firm has supplied a product the government can be confident in using, and is in the top 2% of 10,000 contractors competing for this award. Firms that qualify as Automated Best Value System award winners have met stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency. The ABVS, a computerized system, collects a vendor’s past performance and translates it into a numeric score ranging from 0 to 100.
Rotair’s November 2010 ABVS scores, which include performance over the past 24 months, are Quality: 100% and On-time Delivery: 93.9%.
In another quality related milestone, this week Rotair underwent the annual external surveillance audit of its ISO 9001-2008 and AS9100 Rev B-registered Aerospace Quality Management System, and achieved a score of 100%– no nonconformities.
In his remarks to the assembled Company, Wes Harrington praised each member of the Rotair team on the important contribution each makes to this level of performance. “Our customers, and especially the service men and women who depend on our parts to help them perform their mission and keep them safe, have come to expect and rely on the kind of dedication to quality we bring to our work every day.”
