About the Bell 212

Overview of the Bell 212 Platform

The Bell 212, also known as the Twin Two-Twelve, is a twin-engine medium helicopter that first flew in 1968. Originally developed for the Canadian Forces as the CUH-1N, the 212 evolved into one of the most successful utility helicopters in aviation history. Based on the stretched Bell 205 fuselage, the 212 introduced twin-engine reliability that made it the platform of choice for offshore operations, IFR flight, and demanding utility missions. With over 900 delivered and more than 500 still in active service today, the Bell 212 continues to prove its worth. Key features include:

Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3 Twin Pac delivering 1,800 shaft horsepower with single-engine emergency capability

15-Seat Passenger Configuration or 220 cubic feet of internal cargo capacity for versatile mission profiles

5,000 lb External Load Capacity for heavy-lift utility, construction, and firefighting operations

IFR Certified Operations enabling flight in marginal weather conditions critical for offshore and SAR missions

Rotair supports the entire Bell 212 family with a full inventory of high-precision replacement components to keep these aircraft mission-ready.

Bell 212 Utility & Firefighting

A Proven Workhorse for Demanding Missions

More than 70% of active Bell 212 aircraft serve in utility roles today, including firefighting, cargo transport, construction support, and disaster relief. The 212’s exceptional hot-and-high performance, twin-engine safety, and robust airframe have made it the preferred choice for operators facing challenging conditions. With dispatch reliability rates reaching 97-99%, the Bell 212 continues to outperform decades after its introduction. Mission capabilities include:

Aerial Firefighting with Type 2 helicopter certification and excellent hot-day, high-altitude performance

Offshore Support with proven reliability in North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and Arctic operations

Construction and Heavy Lift with 5,000 lb external load capacity for precision placement

Search and Rescue with extended range and IFR capability for all-weather operations

Rotair provides critical Bell 212 replacement parts so your aircraft can respond to mission demands without delay.
